Kick cabin fever away with Makhanda's Creepy Pub Crawl
Date: Saturday, 31st October 2020
Ghostly soldiers have been spotted sitting and waiting on the corner of Makhanda's Scotts Avenue and ghostly horses charging down New Street. A poltergeist is also said to be the keeper of one of the old buildings in town. Find out whether these stories are fact or fiction by joining Makana Tourism on Halloween night at Makhanda's Creepy Pub Crawl to visit locations in Makhanda that are believed to be haunted.
Makana Tourism in association with Graham Hotel will be kicking the cabin fever away with Makhanda's Creepy Pub Crawl on Saturday, 31 October - a haunt walk scary enough to creep you out! This haunt and history walk will provide history enthusiasts and crawlers with a chilling and entertaining experience of Makhanda's iconic and historic buildings and streets plus an opportunity to flaunt their best costumes for a chance to win amazing prizes! The walk will also feature stops at popular waterholes with complimentary drinks, food tasting, live entertainment, Halloween inspired games and so much more.
This event forms part of Makana Tourism’s programmes to promote unique travel experiences to attract and maintain local and international tourists post Covid-19. Makana Tourism's Director Sue Waugh said the tourism and hospitality industry had little or no activity for six months. Even though the current situation seems bleak, she said the new digital age provided opportunities. "Covid-19 may have come as a shock to many business operations but it also brings opportunities for us to do new and exciting things with the help of new technologies and thereby reaching markets we wouldn't have reached before."
Makana Tourism is excited to partner with the Graham Hotel in this venture to interact with current and new visitors to Makhanda. Graeme Hotel is a Covid-19 compliant establishment at the heart of Makhanda. The Graham Hotel offers warm Eastern Cape hospitality with a variety of tasteful rooms and luxury suites as well as a conference and personal function facilities. It is eager to show the visitors that will be joining Makhanda's Creepy and Pub Crawl a memorable time.
